Life’s more exciting when you’re building towards something! In the upcoming 2022 season, Torpedo is stoked to announce that we’ll be turning on races – starting with our star blue grade event at Val de Vie. This is a fun swim run for everyone!
Welcome to the Torpedo SwimRun ‘22. We have six events over two different days in October and November to choose from starting with Torpedo Val de Vie on 30 October.
SwimRun Val de Vie
Torpedo Val de Vie last ran in early 2020. It was fantastic and oh how we missed it! Blue grade (individual & wetsuits not needed) makes it the perfect SwimRun for both newcomers and red-hot racing pros alike.
New this year is a short course and a kid’s splash and dash around the Olympic Pool at the Val de Vie Yard. The joy of SwimRun will give the kids an Olympic feel. (more on the short and kids course in upcoming mailers)
SwimRun Cape 22
The large swell that arrived over the race weekend in April and the subsequent safety postponement means that we have locked and loaded entrants already chomping at the bit. The great news for those of you that weren’t April race ready is that you now have a real chance.
With SKINS (no wetsuits) for the (qualified) nutters, OPS (longer with boat start) for the more adventurous and COSY (half course) for the sensible, there is an option for most.
A colder look at Cape SKINS
A newly introduced category in 2022 that has brought much excitement and nerves. Torpedo SKINS will see athletes racing without the aid of a wetsuit taking on the same Cape Town 16km route from Sandy Bay to Clifton.
The entry is strictly restricted to qualifying athletes. Applications are open and the first athletes have been approved to enter. Once approved, you will be sent an entry link.
Looking indestructible at Cape OPS
OPS is a full-on micro adventure; packed into half a day. Take a deep breath; bus from Clifton Beach to Hout Bay Harbour, boat ride around the unseen poachers’ corner to the BOS400, water start and swim across Moari Bay, run the coastal path from Oudeschip to Sandy Bay. BREATH. Now do the full Torpedo Cape 16km route.
Good vibes at Cape Cosy
Torpedo Cosi is the first blue grade #swimrun in Cape Town. If you’re wondering what that means…and what SwimRun is 😵💫 – then these FAQs are for you. https://torpedoswimrun.com/720/cosi/
Completing Torpedo Cape is an exceptional experience – Torpedo Cosy is your first step towards that goal.
