
Hereโs a snapshot of your day as a Torpedo Cosi entrant.
Super early ๐: drive and park at Clifton 4. Wetsuit up + shoes + whistle + optional goggles (recommended), hand paddles, and pool bouy (fitted with bunji cord to attach to your leg). Also, put on Torpedo vest + swim cap + timing chip (received on Friday at registration).

โ Pass through an equipment safety check, get your number written on your hand, and board the bus to the start line.
๐ Off the bus at Cosi Bay, under starters orders and off you go. Depending on entry numbers, you might be set off in batches. Reverse order; slow first, fast last. (This format keeps everyone together for better route water safety)
๐โโ๏ธ1 Cosy bay. A very short 150m out, around a turn flag and back. Itโs a fun safe swim in protected channels between kelp. Nothing is straight forward though in SwimRun and there will be slippery rock scrambling thrown in.
๐โโ๏ธ1 Bootlegger. A flat 3400m run that takes you from Red Bull Cosy Bay energy point, on the coastal tar road, past @bootleggercoffeecompany energy point, and onto Latitude Apart Hotel, Beta Beach, Bakoven. The last section of the run includes technical bolder hopping past NSRI Station 2 Bakoven.
๐โโ๏ธ2 Bakoven. 300m across Bakoven Bay. Normally very protected from waves and swell, your challenge in this swim is the kelp. Some love it, some call it kelpโable homicide. You finish at the Squirt Cycling Products station at Bakoven beach where you can apply anti-chafe if need be ๐
๐โโ๏ธ2 Tidal Pool. A 900m run past the Camps Bay tidal pool and onto the world-famous beach. Lions Head is now towering above you.
๐โโ๏ธ3 Camps Bay. 200m out, around the turn can. Straight forward swim, made tougher if the SE wind ๐จ
๐โโ๏ธ3 Maidens Cove. 900m beach run, across Camps Bay, either over Glen Beach or rock climbing through the caves (depending on the tide) and over Maidens Cove grass bank.
๐โโ๏ธ4 Clifton. 400m from backline rocks to the beach and finish line at Clifton 4. Easy swim, although the water here always feels the coldest ๐ฅถ. Enjoy ๐ food and drink, collect your car key from the key drop, and your day is done ๐
