Torpedo SwimRun Graded Events.
Torpedo SwimRun’s are graded on this old African proverb. Torpedo Black graded races are team events with tough and extraordinary routes against the best of nature. Torpedo Blue graded events are solo races with short and fun routes allowing new athletes to experience SwimRun.
Raced in the South African summer, the coastal route traverses the foot of Table Mountain, a 7th Natural Wonder of the World. It’s a wild experience across the Capes world-famous beaches and bays. The beautiful experience is reserved for the tough with it’s cold Atlantic Ocean swimming.
A Friday evening Prologue traverses pristine South African National Parks trails and river. Saturday’s 26km route covers naturally diverse and unseen Garden Route terrain. The Kaaimans is the highlight and leaves you with a once in a lifetime experience! The weekend is rounded off with 2 nights of camping and festivities at Ebb & Flow and a Saturday celebration dinner and party.
Held over the same weekend as Torpedo Wild, this easy alternative delivers a fun sporting experience without pushing your limits. A Friday evening Prologue traverses pristine South African National Parks trails and river. Saturday is a wet and fast dash to the sea and back along the Touws River. Fun, fresh and always harder than you think – welcome to SwimRun.
Hosted at Cradle Moon, midway between Joburg and Pretoria, Torpedo Moon brings SwimRun to Gauteng with a bushveld touch. The swimming segments are the highlight with multiple freshwater swims in the Lake and Crocodile River. The 15km course is harder than one thinks and raced at full speed will push athletes to their limit. The route is graded blue and raced at a conservative pace is achievable for athletes wanting an introduction to this exciting new sport.
Set in the Cape Winelands, Torpedo Val de Vie provides athletes the perfect introduction to SwimRun. The 10km route consisting of 6 short swims and 6 fun runs takes you on a journey through the estate. Through horse paddocks, vineyard trails, the 6 Estate Lakes and the banks of the Berg River. Fun and fresh – welcome to SwimRun. The race finishes at the Val de Vie market which offers a variety of unique homemade fare sold from food trucks and vendors, as well as fun activities for the kids and thrilling games of Polo.
