OVERVIEW

Fun run, swim, run introduction to our young and upcoming Torpedo warriors. Parents/guardians are encouraged to tag along for the adventure. Kids will love the cool freshwater dam and scenic vineyard trails.

Run 1

The Meulstroom Twister

Torpedo Race Hub → Grand Plaisir Plunge

Starting from the Torpedo Race Hub at the Plaisir Food Barn — where both the long and short routes start and finish, and there are plenty of toilets, key drop, bag storage, and coffee to get the day going. The route heads up across open grass fields, sorting the racing snakes from the good-timers, before twisting and turning along singletrack that the little ones will love. It's a gentle uphill all the way to the dam, warming the body up and getting everyone into the spirit of SwimRun before the Grand Plaisir Plunge.

The Grand Plaisir Plunge stays alongside the dam wall, we'll leave it up to parents to decide whether the kids take on the full 250m, a shorter 100m option, or a very short splash for the youngest participants. Expect a bit of mud at the end — perfect for the finish photos.

Run 2

The Ice Cream Dash

Grand Plaisir Plunge exit → Finish line

Although the kids race is untimed, that all goes out the window as it's a flat-out dash down the Meulstroom Trail, alongside the Plaisir vineyards, straight to the finish line. You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream!
